The Plans for the 2022 Season Opener for Chateau Speedway Powered by Garlick’s Water became so big that one night was not going to be enough to contain it all so it grew into a 2 night event.  Friday Night May 6th and Saturday Night May 7th will be possibly the biggest Opening Night or Opening Weekend if you will in the History of the Track in Lansing that started back in 1956.   Along with the announcement of the Opening Weekend of racing The Track is pleased to announce Garlick’s Water Conditioning as a Promotional Sponsor and Title Sponsor for 2022.

The 66th Anniversary Season will actually Kick Off with a Test and Tune Session for drivers on Tuesday Night May 3rd. Then things get serious on Friday Night with the James Krejci Memorial Midwest Modified Special to open the action.  Krejci, a former Track Champion, passed away last year and Chateau Speedway, along with Ron’s Repair of Owatonna and Scott Basness Farms have teamed up to honor his memory on night one of the opening weekend.    They have put together a tribute to the driver of the 71 car by putting up $710 to the winner of the Hansen Tire WISSOTA Midwest Modified Feature.  The night will also feature an appearance at The Track by the Minnesota Micro Sprints who will bring their Winged machines to Lansing for the first time.

The Double M Transportation USRA B Mods will have their run for a big $1250 to win paycheck on Saturday Night as Chateau runs the Sanctioning Bodies USRA B Mod Summit Shoot Out Event.  The Midwest Modifieds will run there $500 to win WISSOTA Race of Champions Event on Saturday Night as well.  That winner also qualifies for the R-O-C event at the WISSOTA 100 in the fall.

Adding to the excitement of the Two Night Opener, The USRA Stock Cars will be making their debut at Chateau as well.   Five of The Tracks Regular 6 Classes will run both nights.  The Skjeveland Enterprises USRA Stock Cars, which have been added to the slate of classes scheduled to do battle in 2022 will be joined opening weekend by the Hansen Tire WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, USRA B Mods,  Power 96 Pure Stocks, and Manke’s Outdoor Hornets. . The French’s Repair USRA A Mods will not be running the Opening Weekend but will be back full time the following week. Chateau freed up the class for the Opening Weekend with a couple other Specials running that weekend for them.

Plenty more Excitement will fill up the 2022 Season at Chateau.  The USMTS Modifieds will come in on Memorial Day Weekend for a big $10,000 to win Special on May 27th.   The Mid-American Renegade Non-Wing Sprint Cars have three nights on the schedule this season including the big Fireworks Show on August 19th.  Induction ceremonies for the third class to be inducted into the Chateau Speedway Hall of Fame will be on Friday Night June 24th.  Announcement for those Inductees will be made on the Night of the USMTS Special.  Season Championship Night will be September 2nd.   The “Spirit of 83 Memorial” with the 25th Anniversary running of the “Mike Guttormson Memorial Modified Feature” will be held on September 9th.   The USRA Stock Car Summit Shoot Out Event.concludes the regular racing schedule on September 16th.  The Track will also assist the Dodge County Fair in Kasson with the Thunderbird Open on July 14th.

Southern Minnesota Promotions will use The Track 4 times during the season to run their SMP Enduro’s.  They will run a Frost Buster event on Saturday April 23rd, followed by events on July 9th, September 24th and Oct 8th.  All four enduro’s will feature Full Size and Compact Classes.
