Memorial Day Weekend at Chateau Speedway To Feature IMCA Stock Car Special on Friday Night and “Spirit of 83” Memorial on Sunday Night.

The Schedule for 2019 at Chateau Speedway keeps getting more and more exciting,   One of the biggest weekends of the year will be Memorial Day Weekend.  Starting on Friday Night The Track will Host the Inaugural “Toot’s Trucking Shootout” for the IMCA Stock Cars.  The Stock Cars had a brief run at the track from 2010 to 2013 as a regular weekly class.  They will return to the track for one big show with a $1000 to win check awaiting the nights Feature Winner, with $75 to start. Racing action gets underway at the regular Friday Night Race Time of 7:15.

The Weekend will then be capped off with the Inaugural “Spirit of 83” Memorial Event featuring the return of the Mike Guttormson Memorial Modified Feature Event.  The Track had hosted the “Mike Guttormson Memorial” since 1998, the year after Mike passed away after winning his final feature at Lansing.  This year the Memorial Day Weekend event will see a name change with the “Spirit of 83” reflecting Mikes and so many other drivers and fans passion and love for the sport.  The evening will be a tribute night to all the former drivers who have been lost through the years that cared so much for Chateau Speedway.  Mike always referred to Chateau as “Heaven” and for this one night a year the Track will honor all those who have gone on over the years.   This will be another big purse event with another top prize of $1000 to the nights big winner.  More details on the extra purse money for the night will be forthcoming in upcoming weeks.

Other Highlights during the season will include the Annual Fireworks Show on Friday Night July 5th.  It will be a Food Shelf Collection Night.  Grandstand admission will be $12 for the night; however anyone who brings 2 non perishable Food Items for the collection effort will save $2 on admission.  Friday night May 31st will be an exciting night for the kids with Kids rides in the cars before the races and then a Bicycle giveaway at Intermission.  Friday Night June 21st The Track will have their Inaugural “Chateau Speedway Hall of Fame” Induction Night.   Friday Night August 9th will be “Pack the Stands Night” with $5 Grandstand Admission for all.    On Friday Night August 16th the Mastell Brothers Touring Series will bring their Non Wing Sprint Cars to the Track.  August 23rd will be “Back to School” Night with several backpack giveaways.   Labor Day Weekend promises to be exciting as well.  After Season Championship Night on Friday Night August 30th with Track Champions being crowned, there will be a second Sunday Night Show that weekend.   The Special Sunday Night show will feature another $1000 to win USRA A Mod Feature Event,   The 2nd Annual Autumn Extravaganza will feature two nights of excitement September 27th and 28th.  Two Nights of great action featuring a third purse to be paid out to the top 10 drivers in each class based on points earned over the two nights.  The Track will once again host the SMS Enduro Series on Saturday September 7th for their Season Championship event.

Along with the Regular Weekly Classes of USRA A Mods, USRA B Mods, WISSOTA Hornets, WISSOTA Pure Stocks, WISSOTA Street Stocks, and WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, the Track will host the KEVKO Outlaw Mini Mod shows sprinkled throughout the season.  Mini Mods are on the schedule for the Season Opener on May 3rd and will be around for 13 shows concluding with the Autumn Extravaganza.

The Awards Banquet this year will be another opportunity to give back to the community, much like the Food Shelf Night.   The Banquet, which will be held at the Eagles Club in Austin on December 7th will be a “Toys for Tots” Collection Night.  The Complete Schedule can be found
